Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Canadian Grand Prix - Preparation Day - Montreal, CanadaMotor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Canadian Grand Prix - Preparation Day - Montreal, Canada

Formula One’s annual trip to Canada is a good opportunity to remember local hero and grand prix great Gilles Villeneuve, who won his maiden F1 win on home soil in 1978. The track was renamed after the late Villeneuve in 1982 after Gilles’ life was cut short during qualifying for that year’s Belgian Grand Prix in Zolder.
