On this day in 2013, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel beat Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso to that year's Canadian Grand Prix win, thus extending his championship lead over the Spaniard. Two seasons earlier, the German had let a surefire victory slip out of his grasp when he had run wide on the final lap of a thrilling race and allowed McLaren’s Jenson Button through.
