Former Ferrari driver and four-time grand prix winner Eddie Irvine, pictured above in Monaco with ex-F1 team boss Eddie Jordan and Game of Thrones star Liam Cunningham, is celebrating his 51st birthday on this date.

Despite his bad boy reputation, the feisty Northern Irishman was no slouch behind the wheel and stepped up to the plate to nearly win the 1999 title after team-mate Michael Schumacher had been sidelined for several months with a broken leg.
