Before Sunday, the last non-Mercedes driver who had won a Grand Prix was Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo in Belgium last year. That day, the ever-grinning Aussie had made the most of the Hamilton/Rosberg skirmish at the front to secure his third career victory around the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit. It took seven months to Sebastian Vettel to finally break the defending champions' eight-race winning streak in Malaysia. As for Ricciardo, he had to settle for a lowly tenth place finish at Sepang, a lap down from his former team-mate.
