Colin Chapman's Lotus 49 won on its debut with Jim Clark at the 1967 Dutch Grand Prix, and took Graham Hill and Jochen Rindt to world titles in 1968 and 1970. The 49 was one of the first designs in F1 to use the engine as a fully-stressed member. It also brought to prominence another incredibly successful design, the Ford DFV Cosworth. Austrian legend Jochen Rindt is pictured here at speed at Spa in 1970.
