The Sauber team has announced that their latest world championship contender the C36 will be publicly unveiled in just nine days time on February 20, making them the earliest Formula One team launch of their 2017 car so far announced.

The announcement on Twitter was accompanied by this moody and atmospheric image in deep blue. It does't give much away at this point but it certainly whets the appetite for what we'll get to see in a little over a week's time, with Renault, McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari also set to launch in the days following the Sauber event.

Pre-season testing gets underway in Spain on February 27m, another sure sign that the new season is fast approaching!
