Kimi Raikkonen (P7, 6 pts): 8/10
"Well that was quite good - the car behaved great!" said Kimi Raikkonen after the end of the Hungarian Grand Prix, a quote so shockingly upbeat and expansive by his standards that it practically made us fall out of our chair! It really was quite clear that the Finn had enjoyed himself this weekend. Easily faster than his team mate Antonio Giovinazzi throughout practice, he made it through to the final pole shoot-out round in qualifying and duly started the race from tenth place, which enabled him to quickly pick up two places at the start thanks to setting off on soft tyres. Once fellow Finn Valtteri Bottas departed the scene with front wing damage it left Raikkonen circulating in seventh place for the rest of the afternoon, with just a brief reshuffle taking place during his pit stop to switch those soft tyres for mediums on lap 29. Kimi didn't appear to have any trouble making either compound stretch to the distance required, and while he was disappointed that the tight and twisty track made it impossible to make any further forward progress over the course of the remaining laps, he nonetheless went into the summer break clearly contented by how it had all gone.
