F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Hungarian GP

Pierre Gasly (P6, 8 pts): 6.5/10
Overall, Pierre Gasly was rather fortunate this weekend. Having qualified in a decent but unspectacular sixth place for the race (compared to his team mate Max Verstappen securing a famous first pole in the same RB15 hardware), Gasly yet again endured a painfully poor start which saw him immediately drop to ninth place behind Lando Norris and Kimi Raikkonen. After that, Sunday was an exercise in damage limitation and one suspects that he had visions of a terse post-race debriefing with Dr Helmut Marko driving him on to pick up as many places as he could. Despite struggling for grip for much of the race, he did manage to retrieve those lost positions with an undercut on Kimi Raikkonen before getting stuck behind Carlos Sainz. However the sight of his team mate putting him a lap down on lap 49 will leave a nasty taste in his mouth and doubtless revive the gossip about Red Bull casting around for replacements for 2020 - if not before.
