Sergio Perez (P7, 6 pts): 8.5/10
Sergio Perez was looking on strong form throughout practice, comfortably running in the top ten on Friday and into Saturday morning. Unfortunately qualifying wasn't quite so successful and he missed out on making it through the final top ten pole shot-out round after losing time with a hard hit on the kerb at turn 7 on his final run. Feeling that the Racing Point hadn't been able to show its real potential, Perez immediately set about rectifying the situation on Sunday with a strong start gaining him four positions on the first lap alone as he circumnavigated the turn 4 incident. He ended up giving two of those back - the first to Max Verstappen on lap 8 and then to Nico Hulkenberg on lap 15 - and lost another spot to Alexander Albon during the mid-race safety car restart. But it was a temporary setback, and two laps later he was able to pass Lando Norris to put him up into eighth, and then on lap 44 he also picked off Kevin Magnussen to secure himself six championship points to make up for the team missing out in Singapore.
