MERCEDES – A WELL-HIDDEN SECRET
The image above confirms the very original positioning of the Mercedes intercooler on the W07, which F1i revealed last June. The air-to-water device sits quite low within the carbon monocoque, in between the driver and power unit. On the other three cars powered by the PU106C – the Williams FW38, Force India VJM09, and Manor MRT05 – this intercooler is implemented in the sidepods.
