ART Grand Prix boss Frédéric Vasseur is apparently leading Sauber's short list of potential team bosses following the departure of Monisha Kaltenborn.
The Swiss outfit parted ways with Kaltenborn earlier this week, citing a divergence of views over the team's future.
Vasseur, who led Renault's works return to F1 last year before leaving following a clash with Renault Sport F1 chief Cyril Abiteboul, was spotted at Sauber's Hinwill headquarters on Thursday, fueling speculation that he is set to join the Swiss team.
Other potential team principals allegedly under consideration at Sauber include former Manor men Dave Ryan and Graeme Lowdon as well as former McLaren CEO Jost Capito.
Should he accept the Sauber role, Vasseur would once again be forced to delegate responsibilities at ART which competes in F2 and F3.
