Current F2 championship leader Charles Leclerc will drive for Ferrari at the post-Hungarian GP test scheduled in early August.
Leclerc has pretty much blitzed the opposition in F2 so far this season, winning five races and holding a solitary 67-point lead in the championship.
As a member of the Scuderia's young driver academy, Leclerc's impressive results have not gone unnoticed, with many wondering what Ferrari will choose to do with the Frenchman next season if his dominance in the junior category continues.
Ferrari could promote its protégé to a race, likely alongside Sebastian Vettel, although the decision would be seen as a bold move by the red squad.
According to Motorsport.com, Leclerc will drive in one of the two test days at the Hungaroring, during which Ferrari will certainly evaluate his ability and feedback as he takes to the track in a new-spec F1 car for the very first time.
Leclerc's previous F1 experience includes a Ferrari test at Fiorano back in 2014 and four Friday morning practice sessions with Haas last year.
