Marchionne wants 'immediate response' from Ferrari

Ferrari boss Sergio Marchionne has urged the Scuderia to get back on track after suffering four consecutive defeats.

Arch-rival Mercedes appears to have regained the upper hand against the red squad which hasn't won since Sebastian Vettel's victory in Monaco back in May.

Marchionne rallied the troops in Maranello and expects the Scuderia to step up its efforts and return to its winning ways as soon as possible.

"I know you are the same team from Monte Carlo and the start of the season," said Marchionne.

"We cannot mourn this negative result but instead I expect an immediate reaction. We have always known our opponent was very strong and dominant for years.

"But I am convinced we will get back where we were."

Ferrari defeat chills partisan media in Italy

After Lewis Hamilton's win at Silverstone on Sunday, Mercedes' Niki Lauda suggested that a turning point had perhaps been reached in the Silver Arrows rivalry with Ferrari.

The Austrian also believed that Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen's tyre failures in the closing stages of the race were the result of an over-aggressive strategy exploited by the Scuderia.

By team boss Maurizio Arrivabene refuted the claim, hinting that the fault of the failures reside with Pirelli.

"Let Niki talk," said Arrivabene

"Even if the reasons are obvious, complaining about losing a second and a fourth place is not Ferrari's style.

The hard fact is that we lost a lot of points in both the Constructors' and Drivers' championships. We leave here, set on improving quickly, with humility and determination."
