Reports this afternoon are suggesting that Honda will not supply its power unit to Toro Rosso, as ongoing talks between the two parties have collapsed.

The Japanese manufacturer is seeking to supply a second team next year and had engaged in preliminary talks with the Faenza-based outfit which is current powered by Renault.

Honda and Toro Rosso were apparently at loggerheads over the financial terms of a potential agreement, and subsequently shut discussions down.

The jury is still out as the whether Honda will continue to partner with McLaren next year, with the latter expected to announce its decision in the coming weeks, if not days.

Reliability and performance improvements by Honda lately could entice McLaren to remain contracted to its engine supplier.

Woking management was rumored to have sounded out Renault on the possibility of  using its power unit next season in the event that Toro Rosso would relinquish its supply of Renault engines.

It's uncertain however where the French manufacturer stands on the matter.
