As expected, the last few rows of Sunday's Italian Grand Prix grid will include an impressive group of talented drivers following four high-profile grid penalties.
Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. will all make up the rear of the field at Monza, a state of affairs which promises an action-packed first lap on Sunday!
The back-drop of the multiple grid drops is mostly strategic however as teams and drivers seek to take one step back at Monza in the hope of moving two steps forward in Singapore.
Honda fitted a Spec 3.7 engine to Alonso's McLaren for this morning's FP1 but the Spaniard will revert back to his Spa power unit for the rest of the weekend, leaving him a fresh, new upgraded engine to race at an advantage around Marina Bay in two weeks.
Similarly, Ricciardo is hit with a 20-place grid penalty for fitting an nrw MGU-H, ICE and turbocharger, while Red Bull team mate Max Verstappen gets a 15-spot drop as he takes on a new MGU-H and ICE.
Finally, Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz hits the limit with a fifth MGU-H this season, and will subsequently drop 10 places on Sunday's grid.
