Italian media turns on Ferrari after Singapour debacle

The Italian media isn't holding back following Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel's disastrous Sunday in Singapore.

While the Scuderia was quick to apportion blame on Max Verstappen for the mayhem which ensued at the start of Sunday's race, the partisan press in Italy is pretty clear on where it stands when it comes to deciding who was at fault for Ferrari's collapse in Marina Bay.

"Ferrari did everything wrong," declared La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The red cars destroyed themselves in a way that even the best horror movie director could not imagine."

The front page of Corriere dello Sport was equally incendiary: "No, Vettel! Not like that!

"The first 300 metres in Singapore was one of the most catastrophic events for Ferrari in the last decade."

Tuttosport added: "A catastrophic accident drowns Maranello's world title hopes. In a few seconds an entire season is destroyed."

And La Stampa followed suit: "Hamilton can now walk to the world title."

Sunday's race was the first time in its history that Ferrari suffered a double DNF on the opening lap of an F1 race. And from Milano to Palermo, the Italians likely won't forget it!
