MotoGP's Marquez banking on a Honda revival in F1

MotoGP and works Honda rider Marc Marquez believes in the Japanese manufacturer's ability to be successful in Formula 1 despite its failed partnership with McLaren.

The current leader of the MotoGP world championship compares his winning Repsol Honda to a bull in a rodeo, but his employer's track record in F1 has lagged spectacularly its success on two wheels.

His allegiance to Honda notwithstanding, Marquez is convinced the manufacture will surmount its troubles in F1 and eventually return to the winner's circle.

He therefore isn't sure McLaren made the right choice by splitting with Honda and working with Renault in the future.

"I think they knew from the beginning that it was a long-term project," he told El Mundo Deportivo newspaper.

"McLaren knew this could happen even if Honda is one of the most powerful brands in the world.

"I hope it does turn out that McLaren's decision is hasty and that Honda is the best in both motorcycles and cars," he added.
