Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost says there's a "high possibility" that Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley will constitute the team's driver line-up in 2018.
It's been a matter of revolving doors and musical chairs lately at the Faenza-based squad, with Carlos Sainz departing the squad for Renault, Dany Kvyat benched for Gasly for two races but then coming back for one race, and Hartley getting his big F1 break in Austin.
Kvyat is now permanently out of the frame at the Red Bull junior outfit which will likely race with Hartley and Gasly next season, according to Tost.
"Both are Red Bull drivers, both are high-skilled drivers, fast drivers," said the Austrian in yesterday's media conference.
"We want to test both of them because there’s a high possibility this will be our driver for 2018 line-up."
As for Kvyat, Tost confirmed that he is "not any more with Red Bull and he is therefore free to do whatever he wants to do."
