McLaren mulls serving papaya to its fans in 2018

Here we go again with the speculation about McLaren's racing colors next season as the Woking-based outfit ponders a return of the papaya.

The team's fans were treated to a gripping and suspenseful wait a year ago as the team teased a return to its original colors.

McLaren's final 2017 livery however turned out to be a composition of orange and black, but racing director Eric Boullier is now hinting at another change and a true flash back to papaya.

"We are seriously considering it," the Frenchman said to Marca.

"It is very possible that we will change next year."

But the biggest change taking hold at Woking is on the engine front, with Renault replacing Honda after three agonizing years with the Japanese manufacturer. And the transition is running smoothly on schedule, according to Boullier.

"It has been a very fluid change, it is something that we are pleased about," said the Frenchman.

"We are very well organised and the job is almost finished. Now it is just a matter of development and performance.

"The changes have motivated the team and everyone at McLaren is looking forward to being in Melbourne."
