Webber takes aim at Williams : 'F1 is not a finishing school'

It won't come as much of a surprise to anyone Mark Webber - a former Williams driver - is unimpressed with his former team's driver line-up this season.

The Aussie has joined the chorus of pundits who are skeptical of the Grove-based outfit's choice given the youth and especially the lack of experience associated with Lance Stroll and rookie Sergey Sirotkin.

While the team has defended its choice, and mainly the decision to prefer Sirotkin to comeback-man Robert Kubica, with technical director Paddy Lowe insisting the Russian was selected on his merit and represented "the best choice" for Williams.

Webber said he was unhappy however with the British team's state of affairs on the driver front.

"Not happy," said the nine-time Grand Prix winner and retired racer in Melbourne.

"There's not a person out there that doesn't want to see Williams do well, and to do that they need a marriage between experience and the future," he told Metro newspaper.

"You need chemistry between the drivers. F1 isn't a finishing school, it needs drivers who can deliver from the off," said Webber.
