Gasly livid with 'most dangerous' Magnussen antics

Toro Rosso's Pierre Gasly lashed out at Kevin Magnussen after yesterday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, slamming the Haas driver for a dangerous move in the closing stages of the race.

Both drivers were on the verge of a top-10 finish, racing for position, when the Dane made a defensive maneuver on the final restart that sent the Frenchman into the wall, fortunately with minimal consequences.

A fuming Gasly was left unimpressed however by his rival's behavior.

"Kevin is the most dangerous guy I have ever raced with," said the Toro Rosso driver.

"He literally put me in the wall at 300 km/h at the (safety car) restart and completely ruined the race.

"He just put me in the wall right in the middle and took half of my floor out. Both my front wheels went in the air, broke my right mirror and bent my steering as well.

"After that I was just trying to survive until the end of the race.

"I don’t mind racing drivers which are hard, but like this is just way over the limit. You don’t put someone in the wall at 300 km/h."

Magnussen received a ten second penalty and two penalty points on his licence for the move. Baku's stewards, among which was nine-times Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen, considered the Haas driver had "moved unpredictably and unnecessarily to the left and collided with car 10 [Gasly], which was maintaining its direction."

The punishment means Magnussen has received eight penalty points in the last 12 months; if he reaches 12 it will mean a mandatory one-race ban.
