Race stewards have decided to take no further action over an ill-tempered clash between Fernando Alonso and Kevin Magnussen during Friday morning's free practice.
Alonso had complained of Magnussen trying to hit him during FP1 as they tried to find clear running space. The Dane had appeared to squeeze Alonso heading into Brooklands.
The race stewards earmarked the incident for review after the end of the session. Both drivers were required to visit the stewards office to give an account of their actions.
However once they completed their analysis, the stewards announced that they saw no reason to take any further action against either driver.
“The stewards reviewed the video and audio evidence and heard from both drivers and team representatives," said the official FIA bulletin.
“It was clear from the team communications that both drivers either received incorrect information about each other’s programs, or did not know what the other was intending.
“The Stewards considered the text of the rule and determined that the sequence of events between the two cars was not potentially dangerous.
"Nor were the cars unnecessarily slow, nor erratic in light of their individual understandings of the circumstances.
“Therefore the Stewards determined to take no further action.”
