Hartley on the sidelines for qualifying after suspension failure

Brendon Hartley will not take part in qualifying for the British Grand Prix following the Toro Rosso driver's suspension failure and subsequent massive crash in FP3.

Early in the free practice session, as it was running down Silverstone's Wellington straight, Hartley's STR13 suffered a complete front-left suspension failure under braking that violently pitched the car into the barriers.

While the Kiwi fortunately escaped unhurt, the extent of the damage to his car will prevent Hartley from taking part in Saturday afternoon's qualifying.

Furthermore, according to Sky F1's Ted Kravitz, the FIA has forced Toro Rosso to change the suspension on all four corners of Pierre Gasly's STR13.lete change of

Needless to say, Gasly himself had a few questions for his team and crew after his tea mate's crash, and sought to be reassured by the safety of his car before launching his qualifying bid.
