Mercedes rolled out its W10 on Tuesday morning in Barcelona with a significant aero package that indicated the German team's determination not to stand still in terms of development
When testing resumed this morning at the Circuit de Catalunya, it didn't take a close look at the W10 to identify the changes implemented by the German squad since last week, with the car sporting a noticeably different front nose and wing combo.
The W10's nosecone was updated with a distinctive new design, while the front wing's end-plates now appear to direct the air outward rather than inward as was the case with the pervious element's version.
Last week, Valtteri Bottas complained of inconsistent handling issues, so it's likely the changes are intended to improve the W10's behavior.
To help channel airflow, two fin elements were installed on top of the chassis bulkhead, either side of the S-duct, while additional fins were also added to the car's floor.
Evidently, Mercedes isn't standing still on the development front as it seeks to make the most of the remaining days of testing and lift the performance of its new car. But what do its rivals have in store?
