Montreal Speed Trap: who is the fastest of them all?

As teams often emphasize, power is a precious asset in Montreal where the track's long straights cater to an engine's potency.

After qualifying, Lewis Hamilton conceded that straight-line speed was a clear weakness for Mercedes relative to Ferrari, and a look at the speed trap readings certifies the reigning world champion's comment as a fact.

Sebastian Vettel's 333.3 km/h velocity in qualifying on Saturday was over 7 km/h superior to Hamilton's top speed. Only Honda-powered Dany Kvyat and Pierre Gasly were slower.

However, top speed shall be only one of the multiple ingredients that will come into play in Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix, with tyres likely to weigh heavy in the mix.
