Villeneuve questions Stroll's commitment after Eifel GP pull-out

It's been a while since F1 world champion-turned-pundit Jacques Villeneuve has taken a shot at countryman Lance Stroll whom the Canadian once labeled the "worst rookie" in F1 history.

Since then, the always entertaining Mr. Villeneuve was made to eat crow by Stroll who has developed over the years into a reliable and handy driver, with more margin for progress at just 21.

But Villeneuve just can't shake has uncanny habit of calling out a driver's plight the way he sees it in his critical and fault-finding mind.

For the 1997 world champion, either Stroll was in too much pain to race in the Eifel GP or the Racing Point charger just threw in the towel and handed his seat to super-sub Nico Hulkenberg out of a sheer lack of motivation.

"Even if you have a stomachache or have not eaten for a whole week, you still go racing," the fearless Villeneuve told Sky Italia.

"If you’re really hungry to make it in Formula 1, you’re always going to race and not quit.

"So either Lance is really in a lot of pain, which means he has something bad going on, or he simply doesn’t have the absolute will to make it."

Regardless of the reason for Stroll's withdrawal last weekend at the Nürburgring, which likely had nothing to do with either of Villeneuve's baseless suppositions, there is definitely still no love lost between the two Canucks.
