Antonio Giovinazzi got a sneak peak at Alfa Romeo's 2021 charger, and revealed that the Swiss outfit's car looks "beautiful" and will feature a "peculiar" nose design compared to its predecessor.
Alfa Romeo has retained both the 27-year-old Italian, who will be heading into his third full season of F1, and teammate Kimi Raikkonen.
In an interview with Sky Italia, Giovinazzi shared his first impressions of the Hinwil squad's 2021 contender.
"I saw the new Alfa Romeo, it is really beautiful," he said. "The livery is very nice, but the peculiarity will be in the front and we hope it can bring us something more in terms of tenths."
It is anticipated that Alfa's new C41, which will be unveiled on February 22, will feature a more tapered nose design. But Giovinazzi is also banking on Ferrari's updated power unit to help the team pull itself up the grid after last year's poor campaign.
"The power unit is an unknown, but we hope that here too that it will be better and allow us to have more fun. The C41 will be presented in Poland, in Warsaw , and I hope it will give us many satisfactions."
As for Giovinazzi's personal target for 2021, the Italian is setting himself a very tall order.
"My dream is to bring Alfa Romeo to the podium and I hope to do it," he said.
"To do that you need a competitive car, luck and work. And we are working hard, even physically I have prepared myself well. I hope to have the best possible car for the first race."
Giovinazzi also hopes that the season will unfold amid a more normal environment, with fans eventually heading back to the grandstands.
"Last year was really different, and seeing Monza without fans was tough," he admitted.
"In the meantime we want to start over, F1 made a great effort and in the end it [the season] went ahead
"There have been circuits with a spectator presence, but I can't wait to see the tracks packed again. Starting with Monza."
