Silverstone has set up a special ballot to hand out free British GP tickets to UK workers in the NHS, emergency services, the armed forces and social care sectors.
The Northamptonshire track has teamed up with Blue Light Tickets to reward 3,500 lucky winners from the above sectors with tickets for the British GP weekend in recognition of their services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The tenth round of the 2021 F1 world championship will take place at Silverstone from July 16-18, and 2,200 tickets will be made available for Friday, 1,000 for Saturday, and 300 for the Sunday Grand Prix event.
"Working with Blue Light Card gives us the reassurance that our tickets will reach those we are all so indebted to and we hope as many as possible can join us this summer to experience live motorsport, something we have all missed over the past 12 months," said Silverstone Managing Director Stuart Pringle.
"The last year has been a challenge for everyone but particularly for those working on the frontline, putting their lives at risk, to keep our country and population safe under very difficult circumstances.
"I hope that this gesture goes some way to demonstrating to this community that their work is very much appreciated."
Qualified workers can enter the ballot which is already open by visiting the Blue Lights Tickets website.
In addition to tickets for the British GP, Silverstone is also offering entries through its ballot for its Classic event scheduled for August 27-29 and the MotoGP round set to take place from August 27-29.
