Haas F1 Team has released audio of its 2016 Ferrari-powered challenger being fired up for the first time.
Making its series debut this year, the American outfit is set to roll out its maiden challenger in the Barcelona pit lane at 07:50am, CET on Monday 22 February, i.e the opening day of pre-season testing.
Haas enters the sport on the back of a strong technical partnership with Ferrari, as the US team buys many components from the Scuderia – including the latest specification of its much-improved power unit.
Following complaints from unhappy fans lamenting the lower sound of 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged power units, this year’s technical regulations state teams must use at least one additional pipe for the wastegate, with up to two extra pipes allowed.
For its foray into F1, Haas has signed multiple podium finisher Romain Grosjean and former Ferrari test driver Esteban Gutierrez. The Frenchman will debut the car before alternating testing duties with his Mexican team-mate over the next seven days of running.
