Charles Leclerc will line up on the grid of this afternoon's sprint race as scheduled despite the Ferrari driver cutting short his practice session at Monza on Saturday morning after feeling unwell.
It's been a difficult day so far for the Tifosi who first endured the disappointment of watching Carlos Sainz crash out of FP2 before Leclerc abbreviated his running in final practice.
The Monegasque had just improved on his fastest time in the session when he told his team: "I need to box. I cannot explain it here".
Ferrari later alluded to a physical issue for Leclerc, saying the latter had ended his running in FP2 early because he was "feeling slightly unwell".
Leclerc subsequently visited the medical center before returning to the team's garage and proceeding with his preparations for this afternoon's sprint qualifying.
Sainz also paid Monza's doctors a visit after his heavy crash in FP2, but the check-in was part of the mandatory procedure after a crash and the Spaniard suffered no injuries as a result of the mishap which occurred at the Ascari chicane.
However, Sainz's Ferrari crews were forced to scrap their lunch break to tend to the driver's severely damaged SF21, with the car's front end bearing the brunt of the impact with the inside wall at the Ascari chicane.
Nevertheless, the Scuderia's mechanics are on course to repairing Sainz's car in time for this afternoon's sprint event.
