The FIA will decide on Thursday whether it will accept or not Mercedes' right to review the incident involving Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen in last weekend's Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
The controversial Turn 4 scrap between the two drivers that took place on lap 48, when Verstappen ran himself and Hamilton off the track, was investigated by the stewards but did not warrant any sanction.
But Mercedes submitted on Tuesday a right to review based on new onboard footage from Verstappen's Red Bull that is considered by the Brackley squad as evidence which not available to the stewards at the time of their initial investigation of the Turn 4 tussle.
"In accordance with [article] 14 ISC, this hearing is to determine whether the Right of Review exists in this case, i.e. whether ‘a significant and relevant new element is discovered which was unavailable to the parties seeking the review at the time of the decision concerned.’," said the FIA in a statement released on Wednesday.
Representatives from both Mercedes and Red Bull will report to the FIA via video conference at 17:00 local time on Thursday (14:00 UK - 15:00 CET).
