Williams CEO Jost Capito will remain in the UK this weekend, having tested positive for Covid-19 prior to travelling to Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Capito is at home where he will follow the UK national health guidelines. The Williams team has stated that its chief executive's case has not had any wider impact on the outfit's personnel who will operate as normal this weekend.
It will be the second time this season that Capito misses a race, having been forced to isolate ahead of last summer's Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort after dining on the Friday evening of the race weekend with Alfa Romeo's Kimi Raikkonen who later tested positive for Covid.
However, on that occasion, Capito remained free of any viral load.
Sadly, the German's plight means that he will miss the tributes that Williams Racing will pay this weekend to the memory of its founder, Sir Frank Williams, who passed away last Sunday.
An homage to the legendary team owner will feature on the Grove-based outfit's cars this weekend while Formula 1 itself is also expected to pay tribute to Williams.
The signs of honor and recognition will take place in a country, Saudi Arabia, that played an important role in Williams' history as the team's early success was financially supported by prominent investors from the Kingdom.
