Leclerc tests positive for Covid-19 for the second time in 2021

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc has tested positive for Covid-19 for the second time this year, but once again with no consequence for the Monegasque other than the need to undergo a period of isolation at home.

Leclerc tested positive upon his return to Monaco after last weekend's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in which he finished tenth.

The Scuderia charger is reportedly suffering from mild symptoms but otherwise if "feeling fine".

The two-time Grand Prix winner tested positive for the coronavirus back in January amid his preparations for the 2021 season, and also felt mild symptoms.

After several drivers were hit by the virus in 2020 at the peak of the global pandemic, it looked like the grid would make it home free this season.

But in Abu Dhabi, Haas driver Nikita Mazepin was sidelined from the final round of the 2021 campaign after testing positive ahead of Saturday's running at Yas Marina.

Also, Williams chief executive was prevented from traveling to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after contracting the virus.
