Labeled by F1's purists – and rightly so – as one of the most beautiful cars to ever grace the grid in Formula 1, the Jordan 191 would have any avid historic F1 collector beaming with pride.
Chassis number 191/6, the original car in which Michael Schumacher made his F1 debut at Spa in 1991, is set to go under the hammer at Bonham's in Paris on February 2.
This is the second time in less than two years that the stunning machine hits the market.
In June 2021, Schumacher's Jordan was sold in perfect running condition by historic dealer Speedmaster Cars for £1.25 million.
A few months after it was acquired, the car enjoyed an outing at Silverstone with Mick Schumacher behind the wheel, a track day covered by Sky Sports F1 at the time.
For some reason, the Jordan's current owner has decided to part after just 18 months with the Gary Andersen-designed sleek and aesthetic racer, with Bonham's putting a €1.4 million - €2 million estimate on the 191/6.
Unfortunately, Schumacher's debut at Spa last only a few hundred yards, the great German parking his car at the top of Raidillon after a clutch failure.
But later on that afternoon, his Jordan teammate Andrea de Cesaris enjoyed a strong race, running as high as second behind McLaren's Ayrton Senna and catching the Brazilian, offering his team a glimpse at a stunning upset win.
But soaring engine temperatures put paid to the Italian charger's efforts, leading to a DNF with just three laps to go.
"Plainly, this Jordan-Ford 191 is a runnable evocation not only of seven-times World Champion Michael Schumacher's Formula 1 debut, but also to Andrea de Cesaris's outstanding drive in that 1991 Belgian GP and to that so unexpectedly successful debut season of Team 7UP Jordan," commented Bonham's.
In 2018, the car was voted the Best Looking F1 Car of All Time by 'The Daily Telegraph'.
