Lewis Hamilton hopes an upcoming Apple TV documentary chronicling his life will inspire younger generations just like he was by a video biography of his idol, Ayrton Senna.
Apple TV acquired the rights to the feature documentary on Lewis Hamilton last year ahead of its entry into production.
Produced by Hamilton himself along with associate Penni Thow, Box to Box Films – the producers of Drive to Survive - and One Community, the film follows the seven-time world champion on and off the track, with filming crews given unprecedented access to the Mercedes driver's life.
Hamilton says the documentary – whose release date has not yet been announced – follows a format similar to the 1992 Senna video biography entitled 'Racing Is In My Blood' that the Briton watched countless times as a kid.
"My documentary along with Apple, it feels different. It feels strange having a camera following you around," he said.
"It's about my life. It's about my career and the journey to where I am with the hope of really doing what Ayrton's Senna documentary did for me as a kid."
As a trailblazer in the world of motorsport, Hamilton's incredible journey embodies the pursuit of dreams, breaking barriers, and achieving greatness against all odds.
By sharing his story, Hamilton aims to inspire and ignite – like Senna did – the aspirations of younger generations, urging them to fearlessly pursue their own dreams and overcome obstacles.
"So, something new and fresh maybe," he added. "Hopefully this will be able to do that for the next young kid that's watching, coming home from school and dreaming of something.
"Hopefully there'll be able to watch this and be inspired to do something great themselves."
