APXGP present in Hungary as production resumes on F1 film

Contrary to information released earlier this week, filming for the Hollywood film that takes place in the world of F1 will resume this weekend in Hungary despite the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Earlier this week, it was alleged that the film's production had been temporarily halted in the wake of the strike movement initiated in Los Angeles and in New York by the members of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

While most productions have indeed been shut down, work is continuing in Europe on the F1 film starring Brad Pitt that kicked off filming at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone two weeks ago.

However, as a Hollywood A-lister and a loyal member of the SAG union, Pitt is not taking part in any scenes. This weekend's work will only involve capturing on-track action with the film's stunt drivers and paddock footage.

At the Hungaroring, the APXGP team has once again been assigned a garage that has been fully equipped and decked out in its colors, like at Silverstone.

Production crews are also expected to be present at next week's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa.

"There has been a writer's strike for a minute now, so that changed the way we had to work on the script," commented Lewis Hamilton who is serving as a producer and advisor on the project through his production company, Dawn Apollo Films.

"Now there is the actor's strike, so it is an unprecedented time for the industry but reading through it and speaking to everyone to try and understand it more and more.

"Fortunately for us, APX is here, we are still filming with the drivers we have, so hopefully we can continue to get some important parts of the filming done."
