Kevin Magnussen will have to start from the pit lane for the Bahrain Grand Prix following a penalty handed out by the stewards.

The Renault driver failed to stop to be weighed by the FIA at the end of FP2 on Friday evening, and was subsequently summoned to the stewards regarding the incident. The indiscretion carries a severe penalty, with Magnussen now forced to start from the pit lane regardless of where he qualifies on Saturday.

"The driver failed to stop for weighing during P2 when signalled to do so by the red traffic light, the car was not returned to the FIA garage and work was undertaken," the stewards' decision read.

Magnussen had finished FP2 in 16th place.
