Alonso’s A14 Management to guide Will Power’s racing future

Two-time IndyCar champion Will Power has taken a significant step in shaping the next chapter of his motorsport career by partnering with Fernando Alonso’s A14 Management.

The move marks a first for Power, who has never previously employed an agent, choosing instead to handle his contract negotiations independently throughout his illustrious career.

But as Power’s contract with Team Penske approaches its conclusion in 2025, the Australian driver is entrusting his future to the company founded by Alonso, and represented in the US by former IndyCar driver Oriol Servia.

The duo’s extensive network and motorsport expertise are set to play a pivotal role in ensuring Power remains competitive and explores new opportunities.

A14 Management, established by Alonso in early 2022 with long-time collaborators Alberto Fernandez Albilares and Albert Resclosa Coll, has quickly built a diverse roster of talented drivers, including, among others, Sauber’s Gabriel Bartoleto and DS Penske’s Maximilian Gunther.

Now, thanks to Will Power, the management company’s presence in the North American motorsport landscape is significantly strengthened.

Crucially, the connection between Power and A14 is facilitated by Servia. This obviously adds a layer of familiarity and trust, as Servia was Power’s teammate at KV Racing Technology in 2008.

A New Chapter for Power with A14 Management

Power’s decision to sign with A14 Management reflects both his ambition to remain a top contender in IndyCar and his interest in branching out to other racing disciplines.

"I think I can be absolutely competitive for another five years. You know, that is the goal — to definitely keep that rolling while I’m really competitive,” Power said this week, as quoted by AP News.

“I was very competitive last year — won three races and (made) seven podiums. So still performing at a really high level?

“And, yeah, if I wasn’t performing, I wouldn’t want to do it. I’m still learning,” he added, signaling his drive to maintain peak performance in the highly competitive IndyCar field.

While Power remains focused on securing his position at Penske, rumors have surfaced regarding the team’s interest in younger drivers, such as A.J. Foyt Racing’s David Malukas.

By enlisting the support of A14 Management, Power aims to bolster his position ahead of any upcoming negotiations.

Leveraging Expertise from Servia and Alonso

Power’s relationship with Servia dates back to their time as teammates at KV Racing Technology in 2008. Servia’s dual role as IndyCar’s pace car driver and an influential figure in the paddock makes him an ideal advocate for Power.

"They will be very beneficial with my future with IndyCar and other endeavors outside of IndyCar like the Daytona 24 Hours and Le Mans, which has always been a dream of mine to compete in," Power stated in a news release.

Expressing his admiration for both Servia and Alonso, Power continued: "Oriol Servia has been a longtime friend of mine and one of the best teammates I've ever had.

“Fernando Alonso is someone I've admired for a long time and have a huge amount of respect for all that he has accomplished.

“I think that the combination of Oriol and Fernando and the contacts they have couldn't be a better fit for me.”

Balancing Present and Future Goals

Power, who signed his latest deal with Penske following his 2022 championship win, is eager to stay with the team while also laying the groundwork for life after IndyCar.

But A14 Management’s resources and connections could open doors to the Aussie’s dream projects, such as competing in endurance races like the Daytona 24 Hours and Le Mans.

“It isn’t my choice, obviously, because I don’t own the team,” Power acknowledged about his future with Penske.

“But at the end of the day, if you’re winning races and you’re (finishing) very strong, that’s the best defense you have for any of that stuff.”
