Herta adds IMSA stints with Cadillac to F1 and F2 duties

Cadillac’s F1 test driver Colton Herta is gearing up for a busy 2026, the American stacking a trio of blockbuster IMSA endurance races atop his highly anticipated assault with Hitech on the FIA F2 Championship.

The 25-year-old American will race a Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh along with full-season driver Jordan Taylor and Louis Deletrz at the Daytona 24 Hours, the Sebring 12 Hours, and at Petit Le Mans.

For Herta, the IMSA opportunity marks a reunion with WTR, having contested the same schedule in 2024 in an Acura ARX-06 LMDh. That campaign brought victory at Sebring, shared with Taylor and Deletraz.

"Super excited to join Cadillac WTR for the endurance rounds next year,” commented Herta.

“We had some success last time I was with the team, and I hope to continue that. Jordan and Louis are some of the best drivers in the business, and it’s a pleasure to join them on this adventure."

Wayne Taylor Welcomes Back Herta

Team principal Wayne Taylor echoed the enthusiasm, highlighting the trio’s past success and chemistry:

"We are delighted that Colton can join Jordan and Louis in the #40 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R for the endurance events. The trio has been a great match and had great success working together in 2024.

“Our team has so much positivity going into 2026."

Herta’s expanded programme underscores his versatility and ambition, balancing F2 championship aspirations with high-profile endurance racing, all while maintaining his F1 test duties.

With a proven track record and strong team dynamics, Cadillac and Wayne Taylor Racing will be counting on him to deliver on three of IMSA’s biggest stages.
