Rosberg believes 'anything is possible' for race day

Championship leader Nico Rosberg will once again lie-up alongside team mate Lewis Hamilton in tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix and believes nothing should be discarded regarding tomorrow's prospects.

The German driver tried his best to beat his arch rival in qualifying's third and final segment but was ultimately left 0.06s behind following a slight mistake on his last run, and despite a small error on Hamilton's part.

Rosberg admitted that driving right on the edge just wasn't enough to grab pole position.

"My first lap in Q3 was good, but not quite good enough to beat Lewis but it was still a good lap," Rosberg explained.

"On the next lap I tried to pull one out of the bag but it didn't work out, and that was it. Second place is still a good team result of course and shows we're the fastest, which is great, even on this unique track.

With Montreal's weather forecast for tomorrow all over the map, the elements may throw a spanner into the works of one of the Mercedes' drivers or perhaps indeed both. Like his top 10 colleagues on the grid,  Rosberg will strat tomorrow race on the UltaSoft purple walled Pirelli tyres.

"For tomorrow, everything is still possible. The weather forecast is all over the place and from second place, it's all doable."
