Rosberg excited to have Vettel at Mercedes debrief

Nico Rosberg claims he is “particularly looking forward" to having Sebastian Vettel at Mercedes' Friday engineering debrief during this weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver formally invited his fellow German over Twitter last week after the pair engaged in a funny exchange in Melbourne’s post race press conference.

Both Silver Arrows finished over half a minute clear of third-placed Vettel in Australia with Rosberg saying he would welcome stiffer competition from their rivals. This prompted the Ferrari driver to poke fun at the 2014 runner-up by questioning the sincerity of his claims.

Although Rosberg hints at another two-horse in the championship with team-mate Lewis Hamilton, the 29-year-old reaffirms he would be happy to see the gap behind them shrink.

“It's all set up to be another great battle between (Lewis and I) this year and I'm ready for the fight,” said Rosberg. “Hopefully we will also have some other competitors pushing us as hard as we push each other, as this would be great for the sport.

“I'm also particularly looking forward to welcoming our special guest Mr. Vettel to the Friday engineering meeting. I'm sure we will all learn a few interesting things for the weekend...”
