Williams to announce 2017 drivers on November 3

Williams will announce its 2017 driver line-up at an event at the team's headquarters on November 3.

The announcement will be made at 11am at the Williams' base in Grove, with Lance Stroll expected to be unveiled as the new team-mate to Valtteri Bottas. Stroll would replace the outgoing Felipe Massa who is retiring from F1 at the end of this season.

Stroll won this year's FIA European Formula 3 championship and the Canadian is already part of the Williams set-up as part of its young driver development program. With drinks brand Martini currently the title sponsor of Williams, confirmation of Stroll's seat will come after he turns 18 on October 29.

The Canadian won 14 races this season in the European F3 championship, including a run of five consecutive wins at the end of the season.

Bottas was a target for Renault earlier this year but is expected to remain with Williams for a fifth consecutive season. The Finn is currently eighth in the drivers' championship with 81 points compared to 49 for team-mate Massa.
