Fernando Alonso sees a “real chance” of McLaren getting into Q3 in Saturday’s qualifying at the Brazilian Grand Prix, though the Spaniard was stranded trackside in free practice, which gave him the opportunity to try his hand at being a FOM cameraman.
The Spaniard, whose deckchair stunt at the same venue 12 months ago had gone viral with the #PlacesAlonsoWouldRatherBe hashtag, found himself in a similar situation in FP2 when an ERS issue forced him to pull over and stop on the circuit.
Instead of heading back to his garage, Alonso actually stayed on site and started watching the action from a close range.
The double world champion then displayed his keepy-uppie skills with a stone before a FOM cameraman offered him his deckchair.
Alonso then tried to film the incoming Force India of Sergio Perez through the Senna esses but the result was not as crisp as his driving.
