Carlos Sainz (tenth, 1 point) : 7/10

Like the man on the other side of the Toro Rosso garage, Sainz didn’t have a car suited for the layout running between the Olympic venues. Eleventh in Q2 but 14th on the grid with the enforcement of his Sakhir penalty, he got a better start than Kvyat. For many laps he was stuck behind Magnussen, but when he did get past the Haas he couldn’t join the fight ahead of him on the track. One point was the best he could do.
