Kimi showed what the ‘’old boy’’ is still capable of with a good car and some confidence. He thought he had taken his first pole since 2008 before being nudged over to P2 by Vettel. In the race, he too was overtaken by Bottas at the start but then not only did he keep Hamilton at bay, he maintained a strong pace – fastest lap in the race – to take a much earned podium result, his first since Austria last year.
