Had he not scrubbed off so much speed coming onto the endless Baku straight on Saturday, Kimi would’ve easily been on pole. His race was in jeopardy after the incident with Ocon on lap one. Following his stop for tyres he gradually made his way back to the sharp end of the order, but there’s no way he would’ve finished runner-up had so many others not fallen by the wayside.
