While there are changes underway at Woking, Stoffel continues to struggle. Slower than Alonso by a full second in qualifying, the Belgian failed to get out of Q1. Apart from the eventual race leaders, the only cars he saw in his rear view mirrors were the Williams. He took advantage of the safety car periods to pit for new tyres but it wasn’t enough to take the race to Gasly and Pérez. Meanwhile, Fernando finished P8, with the same equipment.
