Antonio Giovinazzi (P9, 2 pts): 7.5/10
Still smarting from the embarrassing end to his Belgian Grand Prix a week before, Antonio Giovinazzi was seeking redemption - and points - at his home race, and to a fair degree found both. Picking up the tenth place on the grid that had initially gone to his Alfa Romeo team mate in qualifying, the Italian made up some places at the start only to slip into reverse from lap 15 as his tyres went into sharp decline. Once he pitted he made the best of his new set of mediums and within ten laps of his stop he was all the way up to sixth place. He couldn't prevent some of the faster out-of-position cars passing him in the closing laps, however, and he had to really work hard to stop McLaren's Lando Norris from demoting him still further before successfully crossing the line in ninth. Overall it certainly turned out to be a better day for Giovinazzi than it had been for Kimi Raikkonen.
