Nico Hulkenberg (P5, 10 pts): 8.5/10
Understandably still a little dejected after being told that he would be dropped by Renault at the end of the season, Nico Hulkenberg clearly remains motivated and determined to show the team what they will be missing in 2020. Permanently trailing his team mate by two places throughout practice, when it came to qualifying he slightly closed up and secured sixth place alongside Daniel Ricciardo on the grid. However, we've knocked off half a mark for his antics at the first chicane that precipitated the Q3 fiasco. In the race, Hulkenberg was able to get the edge on both Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel at the first corner, but five laps later he found himself back in sixth only to regain a spot when Vettel spun out. There was some drama mid-race when he found himself inadvertently in the middle of the Leclerc/Hamilton battle during the pit stops that kept him on his toes, but once that was over it was a nice Sunday afternoon drive in the park for Hulkenberg on his way to his best result since last year in Germany.
