F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2019 Italian GP

Daniel Ricciardo (P4, 12 pts): 9/10
Daniel Ricciardo crept quietly through Friday's practice sessions without making much of an impression, before declaring himself in FP3 with a strong fifth place putting him ahead of Lewis Hamilton going into qualifying. Fifth was where he ended up on the grid as well after that embarrassing Q3 session, meaning that he and Nico Hulkenberg shared the third row for the start of the race. Ricciardo lost out to his Renault team mate at the start, but managed to regain the position on lap 5 and then picked up a further place when Sebastian Vettel spontaneously spun out at Ascari. After that it was all about staying out of trouble and bringing the car home, and that's precisely what both Ricciardo and Hulkenberg managed to do. Fourth place for Ricciardo is his best ever result at Monza (despite all those years with Red Bull), and the result as a whole is the best that Renault has achieved since their official return to F1 as a constructor. Chapeau, gentlemen.
